Pithespy's Expensive Cases on ebay

Post by rickboy88 »

Watch out. Pithespy is overcharging for the new SKB 4000 series cases:

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before. I did do a search in this forum.

The "buy it now" is $350, but I paid $229 from an on-line dealer. Still a bit pricey, but better than $350. He also tacks $50 on for shipping for U.S. ship to make it $400 total - for a case.

Also watch out for the expensive new "treble" pickup covers for the 4000 series on ebay. I got one from that same dealer for $15 (now they are $20). Use Google and search on "rickenbacker accessories".

Pithespy is probably looking for buyers outside the USA, so they don't care how expensive, potential buyers in the USA think their prices are. I'm pretty sure Pithespy is not an authorized RIC dealer.

I have a feeling he's buying those cases from an authorized dealer or dealers, and adding his markup. Yes, the foreign shipping info is quite detailed in the posting. I know that they aren't coming from SKB as they are licensed to Ric only.

I meant to post that the pickup covers are also available for $20 on the Ric corporate website in the "Boutique" area. Click on "pickups." I've never seen cases in the boutique, but they can be ordered through dealers.

That's seems a little expensive, even by UK standards...

Have been quoted that by several people. You can get a Hiscox for £75, which is a superior case IMO. Unfortunately I'm not sure they do them to fit Rics.
