Unless it is ridiculously expensive, why not buy 2 six string sets and combine them to make your 12 string set?

it would be the price i could be wrong but to get the right gage for the octave strings you would need no less than 3 set's maybe 4 sets of stings to do one 12 stringer if someone here has done the math on this please chime in

ok i did the math the ric set for a 12 string go's like this 10,10,13,13,20w,10,26,13,34,20w,42,26. and a set of daddario chrome flats are 10,14,20w,28,38,48 so it would take 3 sets of the chrome flats to make one 12 string set like this 10,10,14,14,20w,10,28,14,38,20w,48,28 so that would be about $30 so for about the same price i think i will order a set of TI flats for my 360/12 and save my brain and time

Actually, I've also done the math and it only takes 2 sets plus a few singles of the plain strings, so you're fine with 2 packs plus some singles (a 10 and 14). Since they're the plain ones, it doesn't matter about them being from a flat wound set. At least that's my opinion now that I've done this a few times with great success.

Justin, on acoustics I first used Elixirs, because Melibee had "discovered" them and really liked 'em. Then a well-known player here in the Bay area, asked for Extra Light Martins on his Rick acoustic 12, and the difference in playability was like day and night.

Now my string drawer is stuffed with Martin boxes...

Funny.... I broke an octave G on a Pyramid set last night on my 360/12. I have a set of genuine Ric's sitting here I'm going to put on. I liked the Pyramids. Kinda got used to them.

Try the M170s. They're .010-.046., for the 6 string set.

i don't use flats on 12 string anymore, last set was thoma-stick-it-to-me-baby year ago and i was not happy with it either and i went with ghs boomers extra light and mix of nickel rounds from just strings - e.g. single wound 0.18 for G and octave E, the set is 8 8, 10 10, 8 18, 10 24, 15 30, 18 38. it is night and day for my wrinkled worn hands of a farmer

I love Pyramid flats on Rickenbacker 325s. I have them on a c58 and a 1996. I also found several sets of vintage 60's era Pyramid 13s and put a set on a brand new 325c64. The vintage ones seem a little different from the modern nickel wound flats but the sound nice. I tried Pyramid flats on Ric 12 strings before but they are little too stiff.

You can get GHS Boomers in a low-tension electric 12 set, very close to your made-up set, Dusan. They're # GB-12XL, at only $7.50 a set, often discounted, too.

I must be weird or something, because I use Rickenbacker strings, on my Rickenbacker guitar. The RIC twelve string set is the only one that I use on my 360-12. They sound great, the tension is just right, and they intonate without having to move the bridge. What am I thinking?

The Ric 12 strings sets are great. I don't care for the Ric strings that come on the 325s. Too much string noise.
