I too like the Final Cut best of all the PF albums. Even many Floyd fans don't seem to know this one too well. I used to regularly do a version of Gunner's Dream alone on an acoustic and it always went over extremely well, provided it was played at the right time of the night. Nobody knew it though. One night I played it after spending a break chatting with a self-professed Floyd freak. I thought he'd really get off on that. After the show, he asked me who did the tune! Not such a Floyd freak I guess.
Another vote too for Animals - great album.
Pink Floyd - where do they fit in?
Re: Pink Floyd - where do they fit in?
F C and Animals are both my favorites."Two Suns in the Sunset" is a fav and from animals it has to be well the whole damn thing from start to finish!
Re: Pink Floyd - where do they fit in?
DSM remains my #1, and WYWH follows.
I remember seeing The Wall at Earls Court in summer 1980. Q'd overnight without sleep to get a ticket, (no problem for 16, with three friends, and good beer...) and was blown away by the quad sound and show.
Fast forward to around 94/95, and the original group of us pulled the album, and listened to it again. The decision was unanimous...Christ, what a depressing piece of work! I don't think I've listened to it since....

Thread resurrection
I don't recall seeing any (or is that many) comments in this thread about Roger Water's post Floyd solo efforts. Myself, I never bought any of Water's solo albums and can't say that I recall hearing much of his solo stuff on the radio either. Wondering what opinions are out there on these works of his.
Have the Water's solo efforts lyrics/themes been as depressing and left-wing politically slanted, as were his later-day lyrics and subject matters with Floyd ?
Have many Forumites seen RW when he went on this recent tour and performed DSOTM ? Comments ?
Were there many quotes or comments from Gilmour, Mason and Waters regarding the passing of Rick Wright ?
