TRC on ebay - genuine?

Post by jaseandwave »

Saw this on ebay today, can anyone tell if it's genuine? I'm after one for my jetglo 4001.

Jase and Michael,

There's been a few dozen threads covering this issue in recent months. Type the words "fake trc" or "counterfeit trc" into the search facility, located in the top right hand corner of the page, and you'll find a treasure-trove of information about telling the differences between real ones and fake ones.

This thread in particular covers most points:-

I actually asked the seller about its heritage, here's the reply...

"yes its 100% genuine and came off a 330 semi acoustic jetglow"

It kinda bugs me that you can't trust anybody,

Unfortunately, some folks (in Italy, I believe) have made it very hard to trust these on greedbay any longer.

Like real what is what I want to know.

He's taken his Fakenbacker and put a fake Eyetalian TRC on it; now he's splitting the two up for higher prices on the Bay. This guy has ethics like fish have feathers.

I have put one of those fake TRCs alongside a real one. They would survive a very casual glance, but, really, nothing is correct about them.

The fake TRCs arrive in a mailing envelope without a return address, too...real sleazy spy stuff...

Rics policy of no longer selling certain spare parts has brought on a proliferation of high quality counterfiets that are hard to tell from the genuine.
