Paul McCartney is going to perform in Israel
For the first time ever - macca is going to perform in Israel.
The Beatles' Jewish manager, Brian Epstein tried to bring the Beatles to Israel in the 60', but the Israeli government declined his request as they were afraid the Beatles will negatively affect the youth in Israel with their long hair and music...
The tickets are pretty expensive: 500 nis ( ~$150) for the cheapest ticket (standing)
1500 nis (~$450) for a seated ticket
5000 nis(!) - $1500, for a vip seat, near the stage...
There are approx 50,000 tickets available, this is going to be one of the largest shows that ever took place in Israel.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

This is good news for you, Gil. Surely the Beatles didn't influence your haircut or view of life, did they?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

You have to go, Gil, if you've never seen him before. Save your money, and get the best seat possible. You won't be disappointed.
Re: Paul McCartney is going to perform in Israel
Peter: the son of the education minister who stood in the front of those opposed to bringing the fab four to Israel still says that it was one of the biggest mistakes that government ever did
And I guess they did have a certain influence on my life...
Kris: My wife and I already saw him 3 years ago in MSG, it was a fantastic show and we had great seats.
If it was only us going this time, we might have considered paying for the VIP tickets, but we are going with some friends who can't afford putting $1500 per ticket for the best seats...

I saw him in 1990. It was a highlight of my musical life. You gotta go; who knows how many more chances you'll get
All I wanna do is rock!
Re: Paul McCartney is going to perform in Israel
Oh, I thought this was obvious - of course we are going, we already purchased the tickets...
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Looking closely at that first sentence, one wonders many things. That certainly could be a way of moving towards a peace process, but then again...
Paul is many things, but I'm not too sure even he can swing that one...

Freudian or is that a Mosesian slip?wints wrote:Gil,gibsonlp wrote:For the first time ever - mecca is going to perform in Israel

Both were Jewish, so I guess either of them is fine
