Survived many a typhoon while coming up as a military/DoD brat on Okinawa. You just never know about these phenomena. Pacific storms are generally more intense than those spawning in the Atlantic, if you can imagine that. I hope everyone affected seeks and secures safe haven. Peace, out.....Goofyfoot.

Good to hear that it wasn't as bad as they were forecasting it might be. Hope everyone is safe.

I hear ya bro, I have a stepdaughter in the Navy over in Guam right now. She was just home for 2 weeks and was talking about the storms she was having since she's been there.

I Wish everyone and theirs a safe passing through this storm :D

Howdy all, still camped out over in P-Cola, waiting for the Navy to tell us we can go back. From what we understand the area we're in is more or less ok, hopefully within the next day or so we can head back.

Neat to hear about some of your experiences in the Pacific--we spent two years in Guam, in fact it's where we met! We were lucky during out time there, no major storms came though the entire period--we had both gotten there shortly after Paka had come through.

Well, turning attention now to the SE US and Hanna--and Ike, and so on and so on.....

Thank God things weren't as bad as they could have been. Take good care on your way back home, Bill.

Well...I gots some news...

My dad's friend/neighbor called him last night to tell us how our house is...everything is fine, and throughout the whole storm, my house had power! We're heading home tomorrow, hoping that things will be back to normal. School reopens Monday, and for once, I'm looking forward to going back, especially to see how my friends/(favorite) teachers faired, etc.

I'm hoping my 4 guitars (660/12, Tele, Strat, Les Paul) are OK and not stolen. I'm gonna try to sell all of them but the 660/12, so they need to be alright! But THAT'S another story...

Anyway, like I said, going home tomorrow, hoping that our finances don't take another nose dive!

Glad you're OK Jake. Everyone was holding their breath on that one. Stuff is stuff and comes and goes, but your health and safety are harder to replace. Whew!
