O.P.P. patch

Post by servant »

Thought some of you might be interested in the following:

https://www.oppshop.on.ca/product.php?o ... gle&id=140

The Officially Pronounced Dead Ontario Provincial Police online store sells what they refer to
as the "shoulder flash" on a baseball cap and t-shirt combo ONLY. My brother-in-law was in
the store in July and got me an O.P.P. keychain but I want the patch! He said they have a
blue replica Paul / Sgt Peppers uniform with the patch but you cannot buy the patch from
them.

I'll post pictures of my two L.P. display frames once I get some decent photos of them.

My friend has one in a collection of police patches in his room. Completely unaware of the Beatles connection!

I should see if an OPP guy I know, can get me any of those things, and then peddle them to you guys. The guy I know sort of owes me, as I sent him for guitar lessons, and it turns out, he's sort of a metalhead. He even bought the small vox Brian May amp....R

I wanted to wait until my OPP "shoulder flash" arrived, which it did yesterday.

These two, framed LPs are on my wall farther apart than they appear here. Hence the odd angles.
3.JPG
On the left, top to bottom, left to right:
Sgt. Peppers picture disk (1978(?) LP; side B is a close up of the bass drum)

Sgt Peppers CD box back (a recreation of the cut-out inserts found in the original LP). What did they call those cardboard boxes in which the original CDs came - diamond packs? Anyway, rather than throw the whole thing away (in 1988) I kept the back for "some time in the future." That time was Now. :-) In the upper-right corner of that, to cover the barcode, is a The Beatles guitar pick from the Beatles Store on Baker St in London (₤4 = $8!)

My fresh, mint OPP patch. I've decided that Paul really IS dead, and to remind the stand-in imposter who he is supposed to be,
OPP stands for Officially Pronounced Paul.

An OPP "patch" metal keychain that my bro-in-law brought back from the OPP store.

Sgt Peppers drum patch that I bought at Seattle's Experience Music Project (EMP) gift shop in 2006.

On the right (a much shorter list):

My Abbey Road cover (with LP inside) from about 1977

Abbey Road souvenir street sign, again from the Beatles Store. This is a mini replica of the real thing, from the shop that makes the real
London street signs. This thing is Heavy Metal

Anyway - thanks for listening, thanks again, Kris, for the eBay tip, and thanks everyone for being such a great bunch of folk here.
