Interesting thread... Brings up a lot of reasons why I come here so rarely anymore. :?

Funniest thing to me is that when they first started talking about the 4004Cii/5 (1999-2000?), I was totally psyched! Sounded like a great idea. I even exchanged a couple of e-mails with JH concerning string spacing at the bridge. But.... by the time they started shipping, I had gone back to playing four string almost exclusively! Oh well.....

Remember when there was a 4004Cii/8 listed in the product line?

Wanna see a forum where you can say ANYTHING you want? Go over and take a look at BeatGear Forum. I lasted about three days, with all the rudeness and unfriendliness. Voicing your opinion is one thing, but doing it over and over and over and over is another. Knowing that JH actually shelved the 4004Cii5 pickup update a few years back during the heighth of this opinionated rudeness was no surprise to me. A million private messages on the side would have been more appropriate and far less offensive. It's like dis folks...If I gotta problem with Joey, I pulls him aside and sez "Hey Joey, I gotta problem wit you", which would be followed by any number of scenarios that would occur privately between da two of us. Now if I did this thing at RIC Fest in a room full of people in front of a microphone, it would be a whole nuther thing. Cappice?

Capisco! Very good points, Dane.

A private exchange of emails or PMs are are much better way of dealing with an issue than publicly making a big stink that gets out of control on the forum. Sometimes our posts are misunderstood by others. Better to iron out issues privately. You earn respect that way and just might form a great friendship with that person.

I'm re-posting this great post from Brian Medway here:
Brian Medway wrote:This may seem like common sense and it also may seem a bit out of sync with all the great changes that are being made to this forum.............but please consider the following before you post.

When you dash off a post that is thoughtless and perhaps harsh or cutting you may be compounding someones troubles in a way that you will never fully understand. Many will take the abuse and die another inch inside without ever showing that you hurt them more than they can express. Some will retaliate and they will bear the brunt of the penalty exacted for over stepping the mark. Either way you are making them a victim and a target.

Please remember to be kind to those who cross your path on your journey through life. An act of kindness won't necessarily be remembered by the giver but the recipient will remember it until the day they die.

In closing please take a deep breath and think before you post something that might possibly hurt or affect someone in a negative way.
Thanks, Brian!
