My favorite all time TV theme song (ever since I tied on my first Bat Towel and ran to my new Bat Flyer turbine powered wagon:
I think I even have "Duh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh" on a T shirt around here somewhere...

Re: Favorite TV Theme Song
I remember my Dad told me "you aren't a bass player till you can play the theme to Barney Miller!"
So I taped it on a little cassette recorder held up to the TV, worked on it for what seemed like forever, and then sat in front of the TV when the show started and played it for him. He was proud.
I wish he could see me knock out THIS one!

Mine is M*A*S*H
Does anyone remember when was the song actually used? afaik the opening was always instrumental, however, I DO remember the song being sung once or twice during the show.

Re: Favorite TV Theme Song
It was sung in full in the movie - one of the peripheral characters requests that the other doctors assist in his suicide, which is motivated by a very bizarre complex he's developed involving inadequacy re the size of his genitals. He is given a farewell party, at the end of which he is supposedly going to be given a painless OD - this is when the song is sung with a single guitar. There are visaul references to various cultural icons throughout the scene, including Da Vinci's "The Last Supper". Of course, Hawkeye and Trapper just gently sedate him and tie a Blue Ribbon around the seat of his complex, and when he wakes up he is miraculously free of the complex and full of confidence.gibsonlp wrote:Mine is M*A*S*H

It's plays better than it reads, but like a lot of pop culture, it trivialises mental illness.
