pretty soon people will tire of overpaying for 4001cs models ... and the price will dip to a more realistic $2000 +/- ... then again on ebay common sense is not common ...

You have to keep in mind that the new c64s's are 2K. IMO v63's are worth that now as well. They are just plain scarce on the marketplace.

i'm not quite sure however how to value the instrument without the certificate.

I wouldn't trust this one, PayPal or bank wire transfers only! Plus it is too cheap for a starting bid.

He's actually a good guy to deal with, he usually has some really nice Greco and vintage Ibanez instruments. I think that Bassman's blueburst copy was the Greco he referenced in the auction.

I understand copyright infringement, but does that mean if you own one, you're stuck with it?

I guess Squire is featured in this months Bass Player Magazine, which translates into a flood of CS basses overpriced on the 'bay. Personally I'd pick up on a 4080 doubleneck before I'd pay for an overpriced CS.

Thanks for the heads up, Jared.
Ahh, looks like it will fetch a crazy price too.
What's happening on ebay lately? Seems people want Ricks badder than before!
