But can the .010 - .0456 flatwound set do damage to a 330? Sounds like most of the horror stories are for the 12-string Ricks.

Get yourself onto the Pick of the Ricks website and order up a RIC set of 10's...that's the way to fly!!!

I just got a set of the Curt what's his nuts and I'm gonna slapp em on my 330/12, idf you can call the protracted affair of changing strings on a Ric 12 slapping on. Nut I am dying to hear em. Check out Picoftherics.com for a wide, respectively speaking selection of strings for your Ric. aren't Ric the bombdiggity???!!!!!!
That's Curt Mangum, BTW. I bought two sets from Chris at Pick O' Ricks a while ago, had the 330-12 restrung and set up with them, and the guitar is playing better than ever. And, the best part, it stays in tune! I was doing Townshend windmills last weekend on "I can't Explain," and that sucker was still in tune when the song ended.

I have a set of Pyramids that have been in my 360/12v64 vintage case for about 10 years now, and I doubt I'll ever use them. After reading the horror stories on the RRF, I might be inclined to go for a set of TIs, but for now, the factory RIC compressed round wounds do the job nicely.

Cheers, and welcome Graeme !

I'm not trying to brown-nose here, but I really like Rick strings on my 6, 12 and 4 stringed Ricks.

I have tried Pyramids, and just loved picking up the guitar and feeling those smooth strings--however-- I have actually found the compressed Ric strings to be the best for my 360/6 and especially for my 360/12.
