How about a history field?
I've been reading the forum & perusing the register off and on for a few years, but just recently joined (mostly hang out on the RIC site).
As sometimes happens, registered guitars get sold to others, sometimes members, sometimes not. There doesn't seem to be any automatic way to change ownership, but it seems that adding "no longer mine" comments or via e-mails to the admins these changes can get made (I just bought one that's already in the register).
Anyway, on to the subject of this post, history. As guitars move around from owner to owner, it would be interesting to be able to see where they have been as well as the current location. I don't know whether keeping a history of the owner would be a good idea, not publicly viewable anyway, but a location history would be interesting.

Re: How about a history field?
Welcome, CJ
I asked Peter recently whether we could make the register's comments field public, as every guitar has a story. He likes the idea but it involves a lot of special attention and time for some good reason, so it hasn't happened yet. But that's not to say that Gil won't include it in a future upgrade. There have been many improvements to the forum and the register lately, so stick around meantime and enjoy!

By the way, CJ,
What did you buy? How about posting some pictures of your new arrival in the guitars forum for all the Rick-o-porn junkies around here (including me)!

Well, I suppose it'd have to go in the Bass forum since it's a 4003.
I'm not sure I'm quite ready to air my indulgence just yet, I'm not sure why either. For now, let's just say there have been plenty of pictures on the forum already...

Well, yeah, you're right. That wasn't exactly what I meant, but I see how it could be read that way.beatlefreak wrote:Balderdash! There's never enough pictures!
So far, I've hardly even taken it out of its case and played it! It's just too pretty. My old '76 4001 Azureglo with all it's battle scars just seems safer. But, when my new strap arrives for the new one (it's 250 miles to the nearest music store, so everything is mail-order here), I'll get it out some more. Then, perhaps a few pictures with the old 4001.
