That's one of those situations I always wondered about. I guess it's different with you (acoustic production and all), but if I made a similar TRC, for my own consumption, wouldn't it be illegal trademark infringement?

It's the dilemna between "customizing" something for your own use (ie...something that isn't available on the market anyways), vs. the obvious piracy of selling such an item. I suppose it would all be up to JH at the end of the day.

Cheers,

Colin: You are at liberty to modify whatever you wish when it comes to your Rickenbacker.

In many cases such modifications may take away from the value of your instrument, however, and hence they can be undesirable.

Should you attempt to sell your modified instrument passing it off as an all original Rickenbacker then naturally difficulty arises.

Mark, that's great! I think I saw that picture in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. But that was on the way home from the coffee shop, so I could be wrong :D

I was quite please with that one myself! Imagine then what MrWilczynski feels like when he finishes the guitars. It's got to gladden the heart.

Live a good life.

But the originals require a signal generator with leads clipped to the preamp inputs inside the guitar, OR somebody strumming the guitar. Kinda kills the effect.
At tradeshows, all we did to make them "dance" on display was plug in an FM tuner into the output jack. You just need to find a station with the requisite dynamic range to make them look nice; I'll bet rap music would work nicely and (unfortunately) is quite available on the airwaves.
What about talk radio?

The black original is Kenny's, and the Burgundyglo one is my friend Bob's; both are now functioning properly after rebuilds. We've now got a schematic for Series 2 LSs, too.
You all realize what this means, don't you?

. . .

...this means I get my lightshow back after it being in the hospital for a few months!!!
