Gorgeous, and I'll bet it's a refin. Binding is too white, soundhole edge paint is quite new, and it's just too vibrant and un-ambered to be true. No tape on the guards under the pots...my '60 has this. But this is probably a '59 (Dave says '60, but no ROS and it's a 360), so no way to be sure. Ash plywood back, one-piece, too.

It is a knockout, but unfortunately, so is the price. Be a bit easier to swallow if the financial times were a bit easier to swallow.

I agree with Paul, it's suspiciously clean...very nice looking, though.

Believe it or not, Dave and I do tend to swap emails from time to time, and this came up in one of our chats. He did not say whether it was a refin or not, but it was part of his personal collection. He picked up a very similar model, but he needs to let one go...this is the one.

I also told him about how I enjoy his RM 1993. He said since I've linked him to some rare and cool guitars, if I'm ever down at his shop (and my mom has family in Minneapolis, not too far from Dave's shop in LaCrosse, WI), I can have the opportunity to PLAY that baby as well as anything else my eye catches! :D I'll get to expirence my dream 12-string. C'mon, Mom, find a way to see your mom soon! :D
