No, but RIC keeps a list of serial numbers. Perhaps if you send them your serial number they can verify it's a Shadow, and that letter can serve as a COA.

I know all my orders from Sweetwater show up with Smarties and assorted mints in the box.

'Course, there's that nasty little flashback every time I get those that takes me back to my mother at Halloween and something about not taking candy from strangers because it could be poisoned.

Did the Blackstar, Tuxedo, or Redneck come with a certificate?

I believe they did, although you don't always get one when you buy one used. Sometimes the paperwork disappears. I'm still unclear on how many were actually made of each. The trouble with "No. xx of xxx" is that there is no indication if all "xxx" were actually produced. For example, let's say that the cert says "150" for the certified production run, but what if only 100 were ever ordered or sold. I doubt that even in the late 1980s that the company would have made the entire run ahead of time, then waited and hoped to sell them all. So we can only go with what's on the cert on these and other official limited run (Chris Squire, Lemmy) production models, but we may never know the actual numbers.

It's also difficult to track subsets here, too. For example, we know there were at least a couple of 8-string Rednecks, but were 8-string Blackstars or Tuxedos made? One leftie Tuxedo has surfaced. Were there leftie Rednecks or Blackstars? Also, there was at least one and maybe "a handful" of 4003S5 done up in Blackstar trim, but these were definitely not certified as "Blackstars."
