According to this http://forgottenyesterdays.com/date.asp ... 40&navb=10 it looks like the French TV footage I linked is quite likely to be from Jan 1970 which might help to date and confirm which Ric Chris is playing here.

(Thanks to John Allgaier for his posting about the forgottenyesterdays website - what a useful resource!)

Steve, glad to help. When I followed your link it said there were 476 visitors on the site at that time. I was really impressed and surprised.

And I think you're right about the date and the video.

Yea, it's very cool. So much information. It's nice to go back and see all the material the band has performed over their career and read some of the concert reviews, especially the ones I attended. That site has been linked to by YesWorld for a while and has all the setlists from the tours and a lot of other bits and pieces, too.

I just spent a few minutes on Trevor Rabin'e website and was amazed to see how successful he's become as a film composer. I didn't know he scored "Get Smart" but it's been so long since I followed films. I'm not a fan of the "Let's make all the TV shows into movies and cash in" mentality of Hollywood lately, but I'll give the score a listen. Watch out, Danny Elfman!

Squire's RM1999 did have a broken headstock that was repaired by Mike Tobias, then re-repaired be RIC. The bass in this video is not the same bass. This looks like a standard 4001. Could it be that Squire had two Ricks with broken headstocks?

Love those French girls!!!! Oooh la la!!!

I vaguely recall someone saying once, that the little thing is a clip to keep the strings from popping out of the nut... somehting about the almost flat angle of the hrad stock or something like that. But trusting memory is getting scarier with the passing of every year.
