My buddy had one of those, not a bad little guitar, sounded great overdriven. The Fender Lead 2, cool little guitar.

The first guitar I ever bought was a black Fender lead I. I had it for 13 years and sold it. I kind of regret that I sold it now. Nobody knew what those guitars were, and I never saw anyone else with one either. I'm surprised to find out someone in a band used one! I replaced the stock pickup with a Duncan distortion pickup. I still have the original humbucking pickup somewhere.

On the menu at Hard Rock Cafes they have a little blurb about Eric Clapton donating a Lead II and starting the trend of rock star memorabilia on display. Only other place I've seen one mentioned.

I remember these. In the early '90s a used one could be had for a couple hundred.
