Actually, if it's for real, the owner is most fortunate to say the least. I find it strange that anyone would throw a functioning instrument in the trash, but that's how I ended up with a very lovely sounding Flamenco-bodied nylong string guitar. I rarely ever play it, but it has a lovely tone and playes nicely. I won't get 2.4 million for mine either.

Didn't George's rosewood tele go for about a quarter mil? That's a much more valuable instrument , even counting John's "artwork".

IMO that's not John's mark, but it may be an attempt to copy the signature on this well-known verified "last sketch" of Lennon:
