LOL, I was wondering when we'd see a thread about this one.

Whoever did this is an idiot, pure and simple.

It's a very clean bass, other than the 'embelishments'......

O-M-G!

That is shocking, tragic, and ugly.

I can't believe anybody could do anything so flat-out stupid.

Cut pieces?!? It looks like it's had bites taken off of it!

There's a thread about it on the RIC forum too. I actually wondered if it might have been the victim of a 'domestic' :(.

At least it's a fair starting price - the hardware and the case are worth that, or more. If you were really determined to salvage as much as possible, the fingerboard and truss rods might be useful to someone too. The rest of it just deserves a decent burial...

This one definitely deserves a place of dishonor in the Hall Of Shame.

It could be a candidate for a doubleneck conversion, but the bass would definitely need to be on the bottom!

If I was a lefty & it stayed cheap, I'd buy it. Nobody's ever going to see me play it, so as long as it plays & sounds like a 4003, I wouldn't care what it looked like.

Why do I think there's an ex-wife somehow involved with the story of this bass? With a chainsaw . . .

My thoughts exactly, John! NASTY! What's the penalty in California for assault on a home-grown musical instrument?

That was the first thought that came to my mind, JH!

Anyone remember the V63 that was run over by an angry wife? I have a picture of it here somewhere. :(
