Re: 4001C64
I was just thinking about the C series today. Seeing as how RIC is showing toaster pickups in the boutique again (which thay haven't had for Lord knows how long), AND they're showing a bunch of recent shipments of 325C64 guitars - I was thinking that maybe they're gearing up to do some runs of the C series. Time will tell.
Re: 4001C64

Brian, I thought you had 2 C64S' on order. Do you have 2 4001C64 MG on order too?? I just picked up a 4001C64S, they're great basses. With the zero fret you can really get the action low. Neck not as slim as my '90 V63 MG (I'm selling to pay for the C64S).
Nice photo's Bert, looks like a great bass.

Sam, I have two 4001C64 MG on order. I do not have an "S" on order. I already have an "S" model. I have a couple of 4001C64 FG. One is still with Paul awaiting the MMT treatment. I ordered 2 of the 4001C64 MG because I thought they were a fair price. I figured someone would probably buy the spare or let my oldest son have it.basmansam wrote:Brian, I thought you had 2 C64S' on order. Do you have 2 4001C64 MG on order too?? Could you explain "the zero fret" ? I'm having a bit of a fight getting the action on my C64 as low as on my Tux. Thanks!

Re: 4001C64
The zero fret is @ the nut which allows you dial the action in low. The zero fret allows the strings (@ the nut) to be lower without bottoming out on the fretboard. I know there is a better explanation on the site, you'll have to look for it.Happyface wrote:basmansam wrote:Brian, I thought you had 2 C64S' on order. Do you have 2 4001C64 MG on order too?? Re: 4001C64
I think a zero fret also sounds better, as it keeps the string constantly fretted when played open.
