FINALLY!! 4004L BBR - Your thoughts, please

Post by vito »

After three plus years, it's finally here. It's beautiful. But my eye continues to be drawn to the routes for the bridge pickup. I'd be curious to hear everyone's thoughts. Am I being too picky?

As for the sound, my early impressions are that it doesn't seem to be as versatile as my 4004Cii. But we'll see how it sounds at the gig tonight.....

Congrats and enjoy it Michael, it's beautiful.

I think we'll have to eventually start a 4004 Blueburst owners club! :D

Yeah, I see what you mean. Maybe if you raised the pickup up a bit (without getting too close to the strings, of course), it may make the slightly "generous" routing less visible?

Looks great Vito. Congrats!

As far as the route......are you sure that is the route and not just the foam "spring" from the p/u bulging out? I'd take the strings off/pickup out and confirm it's the actual route before taking things further. If it is the foam just carefully tuck it under the p/u as you reinstall.

Good suggestions, Paul and Brian.

Hard to tell from the pics if that is the foam or roomy routing.

Looks like the rout is bigger than the screw footprint. Is the routing stepped in so that the surround is recessed?

John,

Call Cindy Monday morning about the 4004L BBR at Classic Axe. We're away at a wedding this weekend, so hopefully the bass will still be there on Monday morning!

You have just answered your own question. I understand your disappointment. You should contact RIC and see what they suggest.
