Great TV show from, what, the mid to late '60s? I didn't get to see many or "get" what they were all about back then, but in retrospect . . . . The show (as I recall it) made fun of the news events of the week, and had a clever opening tune that included all that week's newsmakers. Think Capitol Steps, if you're familiar with them. Wasn't Allen Sherman and/or Tom Lehrer involved?

That Monty Brown looks like it has walnut wings. I thought that COY went out of production before the walnut wings became standard on the 4003. I know the one I just sold didn't have them.

Walnut wings came back in January 2006 - the tail-end of the Montys had 'em.

Randy, due to the backlog of orders, a few of the remaining Monte's were made after the changeover, many of the Bluebursts, and most of the Amber Fireglos. The changeover was not immediate, though, and some with maple headwings were made after some of the ones with walnut headwings. I'm pretty sure that all of the basses are now made with walnut headwings.

OK, I wasn't aware that the end of the run of the Monty's was that late. I know all the 4003 now have the walnut wings. That's one of the nicest Monty's I've seen.

It only "lies" if you type in the wrong date.

No, it does lie.My personal example is the 4003 FG I bought from POTR shortly after the DCM weekend.http://www.pickofthericks.com/06_4003fg ... _21116.jpg
The decoder states made in May.I would like to think it was being finished while we were taking the factory tour

I SERIOUSLY doubt that it took nearly half a year to get to POTR.

And Randy , yes it really is a nice one.But I've a weakness for MB.
I violated my own policy of each new Ric being a different color when I got that one.
(The other MB is a beautiful 660-12.)
