Who decides on guitar design changes?

Re: Who decides on guitar design changes?
I'm the only one with the authority to sign off on any changes, no matter how small. That doesn't mean I have all the ideas, just that they have to go through me first for approval. However, most of the recent ones, including the head-through on the 12 stringer were done at my suggestion as convenient moments arose to make such changes as some retooling was done.

Here here!!! I had always thought that Rick 12s were cut through completely; the first Rick 12 I ever examined up close enough to see that this was not actually the case was my own 381/12...upon opening the case for the first timescotty wrote:and what a great design change that was john!johnhall wrote: the head-through on the 12 stringer were done at my suggestion as convenient moments arose to make such changes as some retooling was done.

Judging from this auction it appears that owners of guitars make design changes.wooly wrote:I was curious who made the changes to some of the Rickenbacker guitar designs.

Re: Who decides on guitar design changes?
I love the new inlays on .That really hooked me into buying a new 360.

Re: Who decides on guitar design changes?
I think that the new inlays, new hi-gains and re-sized headstock have really transformed these guitars. (Well, duh!) For the better! ok, now..how about making 21 fret neck standard?

Either that or making hi gain pickups with toaster covers standard, just because toasters look cooler!
