Re: New yes tour
Hmm, is senility creeping in to Jon?

Re: New yes tour
I'll be at two shows, probably Columbus and Cleveland. Both are within decent driving distance and I want to be sure to catch this tour, in case it is the last one (hope not). I will miss Jon, but will not miss an opportunity to see Steve and Chris live together, and this tour may really rock. I've waited a long time to hear DRAMA songs performed.
As for Jon's web site post, well, I guess he did what he felt he needed to do, but I wish he had kept some of that to himself or worked it out with the band before making his feelings public, as no good can come to fans of Yes music from such a statement. He'll always have my support and I will miss him, but remain hopeful for more new Yes material and tours in the future.

well,i hate that it is what it appears to be,but i do feel for jon,if that is what happened. still,i would love to see chris etc,and they are playing in nashville dec.10........gonna have to do it!
Re: New yes tour
For Jon to say "This is not Yes" is just bullsh** and potentially detrimental to the bands upcoming tour and reputation. It's just as much Yes as it was during the Drama tour, and that was an excellent album. Although Chris is the only original member, for most of us, Chris, Steve and Alan ARE original members. Besides, it was Peter Banks who thought up the name in the first place while he's been pretty much given the "Pete Best treatment" since he left. Although the remaining members could still go out and make a few bucks on their own, as YES, it would be a whole lot more lucrative situation. I thought Chris's statement about the "understudy" touring with them was quite gracious and Jon should have taken it that way, waited till he got better, then joined up with them again next year. I'm sure everyone living in separate countries doesn't help with the communication factor, but this could have gone better.
Re: New yes tour
As I heard it here, Chris is back in the US, so that would make Jon, Chris and Alan all here in this country. Or did I miss something? I agree that Jon is being a bit overbearing here, not good for anyone, really.
Re: New yes tour
With great talent often goes big ego (and I don’t mean that is a negative fashion) – I think you have to be pretty damn cocksure of yourself to be able to do what these guys have done. With Jon’s comment – I’m sure he’s a little scared, tired, and a bit cranky and hurt by all that has gone down in the past few months (not justifying, just understanding). I hope at some point they all can kiss and make up. Until then there are a few really good musicians who are traveling around soon (under whatever guise they are presented or received) – bad timig for me however…. I hope I can adjust my schedule to see them somewhere!!

Re: New yes tour
Hmm.
I am thinking back to the Jon Anderson interview earlier this year at the NFTE.com website where Jon talks about writing new material with Trevor Rabin.
If Jon were so concerned about the future of Yes, why wasn't he writing material with Chris, or Steve, or even Alan?
Why didn't Jon call or contact Chris or Steve? Communication is two-sided.
It may not be as "Yessish" (Howe's word during the Rabin years) without Anderson, but it will still be Yes with a Squire, a Howe, a White and a Wakeman performing Yessongs.
The last time things didn't go Anderson's way (back in 1988) he formed a new band with old Yesmen. I wonder what the chances are for a new project along the lines of Anderson Bruford Rabin and Moraz. Actually, that would be kind of interesting. But Bruford would never do it again. Unless he's hurting for money.

Wow...Bruford hurting for money...what a concept...
Makes my hurting for money seem almost inconsequential...

Re: New yes tour
I passed, but got tickets for a good friend of mine that all but gave up music and playing alltogether until his son showed interest and started playing. Now he is re-living his music life with his youngest son, and is very excited about seeing YES again. We went and saw the "Drama" tour together, he got married , and that was it for music for him.......not me.
Anyway,,, a set list of the current tour would be appreciated as soon as available. I am going to enjoy prepping them for the show with CD's and tech info.....

I managed to get my tickets!
I called the MINUTE they went on sale, ON THE PRESALE date, and managed to get OK seats on the floor about 20 rows back on Squire's side.
Just glad to be going!
