RAIN
I had these little, tiny, pinpoint drops of... water... on my windshield today, and the papers and the TV news are touting the fact that we have our first rainfall since like May.
It is 75 degrees inside my house tonight and I feel COLD!

Re: RAIN
Drove down to Long Beach to visit one of two fave luthiers. Encountered a light dusting of the wet stuff down there. Situation was fairly civilized on the roads as I didn't see any goofs driving all weirded out. With temps near 200 degrees of late, today did feel like I was golfing on the Monterey Peninsula. Very cool (pun intended). Late.....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.
Re: RAIN
I've always wondered what would happen if a tropical system ever hit So Cal.
But then again, I'd never wish that on anybody, especially my friends & forunites in So Cal!

Got that right, Joey. I'm pretty sick of the heat right about now.

Re: RAIN
I was at the Dodgers NLDS clincher game last night. Lots of dark clouds, but no rain. It was about 65 degrees at game time. You should have seen all the fans wearing winter coats, scarves, and hats. The rest of the country must think we're wimps.
Re: RAIN
It's raining today here in Montana, just south of the Canadian border, 55F. In another month or so, we'll get in to the cold part of winter, -30F to -50F. I need to get the new water line to the new well in before the freeze. Only have to bury 'em 7ft deep to keep from freezing here...

Re: RAIN
Minus 50 degrees?
Do you go out, say shopping or work? Driving must be fun.
I was in Iowa once, it was minus 9. I was there on work-related training from Hawaii, where I lived at the time. I walked the two miles or so from hotel to lab. They all thought that was not unusual. I thought it inhumane!
I'd get back to hotel and shiver myself to sleep!
One must acclimate oneself. We've been 90 to 100 degrees for quite a while here, so 75 degrees feels chilly!

Yeah, -50. Last winter was warm, we only got to -38F. We have a ranch up here, so yes, I have to go out and work in that, the animals have to be taken care of whether I like it or not.shamustwin wrote:Minus 50 degrees?

Shopping isn't too bad, people just leave their cars running (a few places have outlets outside so you can plug in your block heaters), if you shut 'em off they may not start 'til spring. Of course there's not many places to go shopping in this little town of 1800 people.
Actually, we get the best of both worlds, in July & August, 100+ isn't unusual...
