Great guitars but rather heavy for my liking.

Love the carved body. I hope I can get one as my next Ric 12 but they're just so expensive...

I played one a few years ago at Rudy's in New York:

In person, they're more comfortable and a bit thinner than they look in pictures.

I would LOVE to see one in AFG. As for production totals, same answer as always...nobody knows.

Lots of love for the model from me-it's definitely one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite Ric model. They only weigh about a pound more than a 360 WB (my other fave model), but they are twice as thick. The weight itself doesn't bother me-I've completed plenty of sets jumping about the stage played entirely with my 381:

I have much love for the 381v69. If I weren't about to be laid off I would have bought that fireglo one on Ebay that had the $2500 BIN.

I've briefly held and noodled with a few and honestly didn't take much notice of the weight. I guess strapping one on for 2 or 3 hours might be a different story. :D

Needless to say, really, but I'd LOVE to have one!! The Fireglo example EriK speaks of was a huge temptation at the price.

Damn!!

Very sorry to hear about you situation, BTW Erik........ absolute bummer!! :( :(

Thanks, I'm sure this will all work out for the better. At least I have a golden opportunity to move away from California to somewhere I can actually afford to buy a house.

Every cloud has a silver lining/golden opportunity, eh? Good to hear positive vibes, Erik.

Best wishes.

Here's a photo of my 381/12V69. I love this guitar. It's a keeper. The other photo shows all of my Ricks. I'm selling three of them.

I had one from December '87, the first year of reissue production:

It was a wonderful guitar! I did find it to be heavy and somewhat bulky, but not to a degree that I found it bothersome or tiresome to play. I gigged with it once or twice and it was great.
