McGuinn lower pickguard
My 370/12 McGuinn spec instrument, that I acquired back in 2000 came with the older traditional pickguard, as it did not have the onboard compressor. Does Rickenbacker sell the blank lower pickguards that have the 370/12RM knob spacing, or is there anyone what sells them after-market. I suppose I can use the standard upper section.
I'm contemplating having a treble boost/compression circuit installed.

Have you talked with Pickguardian to see if they can help you?

Re: McGuinn lower pickguard
I checked out the website, and did not see this model among the many Rick guards they offer. I'm sure Pickguardian can make one, but don't know if they have a template.
Re: McGuinn lower pickguard
Rob, if you have no other recourse, let me know and I'll see if I can make a template for you (I have two 370/12RMs, so having one apart to create a template is only a matter of taking time to do it).

It might be worth the while, Gary - Just so we'd have the template.

Thanks Gary, that would be most appreciated if you have the opportunity. I'm waiting to discuss the electronic build with a technician. I'll post my progress here.

Re: McGuinn lower pickguard
I have one of Joe's pickguards with the built-in treble booster like Roger McGuinn's early 370/12. It does not have a compressor circuit as the 370/12 RM LE models do. I acquired it to install in my 370/12 SPC but have never used it as I decided to keep that guitar original.

yes that's what i thought he had the original "byrd" with two switchcrafts and four controls just like venerable 370/12byrd from 60's . i'd get that and for compressor i'd visit janglebox.com.

Thanks for the bump, Werner, I was thinking of this thread just the other day ... I didn't realize that it was so old!
How time flies! Time to get the 370/12RM MG out and do some tracing/scanning ...

It's parked at GoDaddy, Super Bowl sponsors and the place where Web names go to die...
Re: McGuinn lower pickguard
Craig Witty had a 370/12 McGuinn spec instrument, wired by Tonewerks the exact same as a standard 370/12 McGuinn. Maybe he can help you out here?
