The Glo and the Question

Post by indianation65 »

A recent purchase...'92, former Jetglo 6-string, now a Noglo, which sounds better then Dullglo.
It needed major adjustments, of which I feared to perform myself, but I learned. Now, it sings in many languages dependent upon amp choice. It looks rustic compared to my Goldenglo and Fireglo, but is certainly not second or third string. The triplets make up a nice choir...they do sing harmoniously...
Addendum: Rusticglo...now that's a possibility!

Very nice, Joseph, congratulations. There's a lot to be said for finding a winning ticket and sticking with it. Take good care of her.

Very Nice Indeed! A nice addition. And congratulations on overcoming the fear and making the major adjustments yourself. It will make you more in tune with your instruments in the long run. Go for it!

Appreciation to all friends for the kind sentiments...
Mr. BFreak,
The question was what does one call a Jetglo stripped completely down. Technically, it's was "born-?" a Jetglo, but now? In looking at the 330 the natural hue was enveloped by the black, but even after removal, remnants seep through, thus causing the darkened tone. The lack of any finish creates the dullness and rustic flavor. Noglo will probably suffice...

It would be best to have some kind of finish or sealer on the wood to keep dirt and oils from getting into it.

Mr. Bassman,
Good point and apropos for he who intends to possibly sell. However, any player who loves his guitar and does not worry about words such as "pristine," or "mint," and cares more about playing may not care about monetary value. Personal value sits high upon the mountain, while resell value continually climbs or falls, rocks crumbling under feet. If man loves his axe, play, play, play is the key, not sell, sell, sell. Many forum brothers may disagree. If so, as usual, I may stand alone...good stuff Mr. Bassman, thanks for making me think!
Other comments from forum brothers and sisters since my last rant, appreciation...Rusticglo it is!

I'm with you, Joseph. Personal value eats market value for lunch :) . I, like you, shop with my heart and my ears.

Mr. BFreak,
I'll probably allow the Rusticglo to feel the warmth of the sun's rays first, just to give him a nicer tan before any sealer cloaks his coat.
Mr. Mdear,
Appreciation friend...I do like the battle-tested guitars, it shows dependency, mine to them. Although I'm sure I'll one day buy a new Rickenbacker, perhaps my own signature...laughs, I'd have to simply "sign" for that package!

Addendum: Call me what you will as long as it's a positive. Joseph, Indian, In66, Indy or Mr. Nation all suffice in other forums, even though I'm just a kid from Iowa with old remnants...Good stuff!
