My Premier Guitar Interview w/McGuinn

Post by drumbob »

My interview in the November issue of Premier Guitar is up online tonight and will be available any day now in the hardcopy magazine. I'm pretty pleased with it. There's extensive discussion about Roger's signature Rick 12, his feelings about a Byrds reunion, etc. I did sidebars with John Hall and Chris Hillman as well.

I got John on the phone the first time I called! I can't imagine getting King Henry The Arrogant of Gibson on the phone so easily.

Anyway, I hope you Rick fanatics check the article out, and by all means, if you haven't seen Premier Guitar yet, please do pick up a copy.

That was a brilliant interview Bob. I thoroughly enjoyed the read.

A truly wonderful interview, Bob that covers all the bases or at least guitars. :)

I especially like the quote from John Hall.
If Roger wants to work with us to produce a new instrument sometime down the road, we could do that.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I read it this morning; great interview, Bob! I am still kicking myself for not seeing Chris Hillman when he was in town last week. I saw Roger 2 years ago, and have seen Crosby a couple times with CSN and just CN, so Hillman is my last surviving original Byrd to see yet.

Wonderful interview, Bob, very well done, and a pleasure to read. Must have been a great experience to interview him. Thanks for sharing!

EDIT to add: Great magazine! I've never seen it here (Israel) but I bookmarked the url and will pay regular visits to the online version.

Very nice. I wonder why Roger stated he wasn't allowed to discuss the other Ricks in his collection?
