Re: 660 neck
Mine is not flat, but it feels flat. It is a very large radius compared to my 620 and 350. All three necks feel about equal thickness to me (not measured just felt) but the extra width of the 660 flattens out the radius enough to feel flatter than the other two. I personally love it. It is easy to move my thumb quickly from low E side to high E side around the back of the neck. It makes 5 & 6 fret stretches very easy.

Re: 660 neck
I stopped by willies guitars the other day and played a couple 650's a 330 and a 660/12 and a 620 all side by side... the 650 neck is wide, very thick and very flat on the back... chunky/flat. the 660 was a much more comfortable shape to me... much more "C" shaped.... not a ton wider than the 440 but quite a bit thicker.
The 660 is a very nice neck profile feels right at home against lots of other guitars. The 330/620 does feel a little small... like a nice harmony perhaps... string spacing a little tight not bad, but a little tight. The 650 stands out from the crowd. To some it might be good.. to me it felt very strange... and was a turn off. I'm sure you could get used to it... but it wasn't so much the size of the neck but the profile of the back that felt so strange to me.
I'm going with the 660.

Re: 660 neck
Jerry, I had a 660/12 Montezuma Brown. The neck felt the same as the one on my 650 Dakota. Neck specs are the same according to the Ric site. It was a cool guitar but I'm basically a 300-series guy. Peace, out.....Goofyfoot.

Re: 660 neck
Although the 650 and 660 share the same width at the nut the 650 is wider at the 12th fret due to its wider string spacing at the bridge. So I wouldn't think that they would have the same profile. The 650 also sports jumbo frets that gives them a different feel.hjarnett wrote:i have never held a 660 before so i know it has a wide neck like a 650 but is it as flat see the 650 i had the back of the neck felt like it was almost flat is the 660 the same?

Re: 660 neck
I have a 660 /6 neck and i love it. I like the 360 skinny neck as well but the 660 neck is very nice. I play a Gibson LP Jr. and the 660 is about a wide as the Jr.

Well, according to http://www.rickenbacker.com, the 660/12 and 650D have the same width at the nut and 12th fret. Peace, out.....Goofyfoot.btomlinson wrote:Although the 650 and 660 share the same width at the nut the 650 is wider at the 12th fret due to its wider string spacing at the bridge.....

Re: 660 neck
The 650 neck is 53.52mm. The 660 neck is 52.4 mm. Am I missing something? If you do the math the 650 will have an even larger difference at the 21st fret.goofyfoot wrote: Well, according to http://www.rickenbacker.com, the 660/12 and 650D have the same width at the nut and 12th fret. Re: 660 neck
Ken, I was comparing the 660/12 to the 650D. Indeed, the 660/6 is 1.12 mm narrower at the 12th fret than the 650D. Peace, out.....Goofyfoot.ken_j wrote:The 650 neck is 53.52mm.
