I hope he got it cheap...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

That's hard to look at!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: Sorta brings tears to your eyes....
That's probably the biggest damn pickup I've ever seen. :puke:

Re: Sorta brings tears to your eyes....
The neck pickup looks like a DiMarzio Model One. I'd be interested to hear how it sounds. That with the original bridge pickup could be pretty cool!
Re: Sorta brings tears to your eyes....
Actually it sounds pretty darned good, Harry! Still nice and clean and clunky....... who'd have thunk it?
I'm going to take my 4003 to our next rehearsal and see what comes out of it........ although he may not be comfortable with the chunky neck. The 4001 neck is as slick as hell!!

It's hard to kill a good rick. Actually I have a theory that the following factors, in order, determine the sound of an instrument: 1) The body (and neck) itself, 2) the strings, 3) the pickups, and 4) bridge hardware, amp and anything else after that. I'm willing to be corrected, but it doesn't surprise me that his bass still sounds like a rick.ozover50 wrote:Actually it sounds pretty darned good, Harry! Re: Sorta brings tears to your eyes....
I once put a deposit on a Dimarzio Model 1 to put in my first Ric. Unfortunately I then ran out of money (I was 17 at the time) so couldn't afford to buy it. Lemmy had one in his white bass for a short while which was reason enough for me.

That bass looks like it has been someone's workhorse so I'd be surprised if it didn't sound good. I love mods on Rics.....it's nice to see something a little different.

That is the DiMarzio replacement for the Gibson mudbucker IIRC.hieronymous wrote:The neck pickup looks like a DiMarzio Model One. I'd be interested to hear how it sounds. That with the original bridge pickup could be pretty cool!
