Committee of Custom Colours
I have decided to make a number of changes to my 1993 Liverpool Model 350. After much thought these changes will now include a change of colour.
I could like to ask for your help in creatively choosing custom colours and with this goal in mind I would like to convene the Custom Colour Committe, hearafter referred to as the CCC.
I would be grateful if you would offer your colour samples in this thread and your reasons for choosing them, should you have any. Random thoughts are accepted as well.
What colour would you choose? I would love to hear from you. It was last seen looking like this.

Re: Committee of Custom Colours
I'd leave it like that but if you have to have something different, I'd go with DCM.

Re: Committee of Custom Colours
I'll suggest a true Midnight Blue - A metallic blue so dark it looks black under some light conditions, just like the DCM.

Re: Committee of Custom Colours
Well, call me a traditionalist, but I think a vintage-looking 350 with nice wood like that deserves some kind of ambered Autumnglo-style burst finish:
Maybe even an f-hole carved into the top...?

Re: Committee of Custom Colours
Some day I am going have a guitar finished in a Metallic Chestnut that matches my Ford F-150. The best way that it can be described is that it is a burgundy-brown finish.

Re: Committee of Custom Colours
Thanks for these suggestions of traditional and new thoughts.
Autumnglo has been under consideration but I am thinking that something out of the ordinary might be interesting to explore as well. Dan, you suggestion is fitting and tempting.
Certainly exploring the almost endless number of car finishes is under pursuit at the moment, so you are on target with your post Richard.
If I have a leaning at this point it is for a darker metallic finish.
Solid or burst?

Re: Committee of Custom Colours
I've always been partial to bursts. But with a metallic type finish...maybe not.

Exactly my sentiments, Jim. Would a metallic burst be as effective as a solid colour metallic?

Is this the sort of thing that you had in your mind's eye, Scotty?

Re: Committee of Custom Colours
Solid definitely. Go with the extreme dark blue. Think of the DCM, but go with a blue like that.admin wrote:If I have a leaning at this point it is for a darker metallic finish.
