Hey drummer people -
Who here knows the different satin flame finishes offered by Ludwig, or knows where I can see a vintage catalog w/swatches? I have a line on such a kit and want to read up.

Re: Vintage Ludwig drum questions
I'm not a drummer, just an internet geek of sorts. Always remember, Google is your friend.
I googled ludwig drum satin flame finish and got
http://www.jamminsam.com/satin_blue.htm
There are descriptions and color samples for a few different ones there, don't know if these are official Ludwig though. I'm sure there are other places as well...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Although that particular site doesn't list it, the magic word I was looking for was charcoal...I do believe that's the term for the kit I've got my eye on. Thanks!

Re: Vintage Ludwig drum questions
Turns out they weren't Ludwig drums after all, just some crummy drums with a satin flame re-wrap and a couple of Ludwig cymbal mounts on the kick drum.
I am now officially on the lookout for a different satin flame kit. Pref. in peacock SF with a matching snare.
