Groovy Beatles pictures
Re: Groovy Beatles pictures
No, the slash sound hole, which is not shaped like a slash at all.
Not sure what's happened with the photo, but George's sound hole is not that shape, and doesn't have a cusp halfway.

Trick o' the lighting, I would say.

I don't think the idea of John playing George's Rick is farfetched, it's just not everyday you see a picture of it.dpowell wrote:Is the idea of John playing George's guitar that far-fetched?bails wrote: From a few pages back.
What's going on here? Photoshop?

Maybe John had a cigarette in that hand, and some politically correct photographer got a little too ambitious airbrushing it out.bails wrote:No, the slash sound hole, which is not shaped like a slash at all.

There.... if a painted on sound hole was good enough for George's Gretsch, I suppose it should be good enough for George's Rick.

That's logical to me. They airbrushed out McCartney's cigarette on the sleeve for "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "Can't Buy Me Love".beatlefreak wrote:Maybe John had a cigarette in that hand, and some politically correct photographer got a little too ambitious airbrushing it out.bails wrote:No, the slash sound hole, which is not shaped like a slash at all.

By the way, the HDN Collector's Edition DVD (I got it for my b'day) is well worth it for all the interviews with surviving members of the cast and crew:

Dig that Atomic Beat....
Re: Groovy Beatles pictures
George's "new style" 360-12 was stolen soon after he received it. But I always thought he looked great with it (as does almost anyone holding that guitar) and IMHO he should have gotten another one!
