How many 610 owners are there?

Post by Rickygirl »

I often read about people who own 620s and 660s, but can only remember one reference to anyone having a 610. I was wondering how many 610 lovers there were out there, apart from me.

Maybe the 610 doesn't have the striking binding, but it is a beautiful little guitar and the lack of binding really makes it distinctive. It sounds fantastic and looks wonderful. I love mine.

It was also asked to do a sitting for a portrait ( by a budding 12 year old artist) and here it is in paint - on my Physics display board in my Lab at school

I might take some better pictures of it to show it off more.

I don't have one, Sarah but I envy you. Whilst I like the binding on the 620s (although my right forearm isn't so rapt) the smooth, rounded edges of the 610 and 615 appeal to me - a sexier look if you like. There's a nice simple, understated look about them and there's nothing to take the viewer's eye off the finish - especially in the case of your Fireglo.

In short........... I like it!! :D

My 87 610/12 JG/BT has one of the best necks I've ever played on a guitar. There is a cool MG/BT of the same year and model on gbase right now for a good price.

How do you figure? 610 body is contoured with no binding.

I sold mine back in the day when I had a mortgage on 2 houses and no money for my lovely brides birthday. I miss the guitar, but I still have my bride! That's a good exchange...right?

I've wanted one ever since I picked up my 450/12 a few years ago. I let a couple of them slip past by hesitating or waiting until I got home from work to follow up on them. I wouldn't mind a 620 at all, but I do like playing the 450 with the body contours.

I'm guessing clearblue meant the string spacing was like a 620's. :?:

The Rickenbacker Register has 47 Model 610s and three image files.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Mine is a 610 BT with an accent vibrato, which is why I call it a 615.... However, the previous owner had "610 VB" written on the case in silver sharpie. I am not sure what the official designation is for this guitar, LOL!

I just like to think of it as my "chick rocker" guitar, for those times when I really want to cut loose.... It really sounds great with a bit of distortion.
