It really depends on the model. My 325c64 has a very slim '60s neck like my 330, but the c58 I owned had a thicker '50s neck.kiramdear wrote:
How does neck thickness vary in Rickenbackers when one moves from short scale to full scale?
I used to hate the thick necks too, but give them a second chance. The shape may seem weird initially, but it's there to fill your hand so it doesn't get fatigued. Note when you're playing a thicker neck that your hand is more fully touching the back of the neck, rather than arching above it. I have a cheap Epiphone acoustic here at school with me, and the neck is so slim it hurts to play after a while...no support for the wrist.
