You wouldn't find any knots but what you would see are mineral stains, dark natural streaks in the color of the wood. Obviously we try to weed these out in the selection of blanks but sometimes, especially in the case of the neck, you don't see this until the last cut or shape, after a significant investment has already been made in the part.

I have no idea how many like this were produced, but not a large number- say in the tens of units.

I've got a jetglo V63 as well. It's my favorite and a keeper. I had no idea these things were getting up there in value! Maybe I should stop playing it and put it under a glass case! (Just kidding.)

umm,Dan,now that we know the Jetglo 4001v63's are firewood converted into a bass guitar, you might consider dumping yours.

I just put mine in the woodchipper.:-)

Melissa, that's a great title for a blues song. Go for it! I can foresee a whole CD of northwoods blues from you, with maybe a couple of polka tunes thrown in. Image

Hmmmm.... Funny you should mention that, Dave. I spent the better part of Saturday night with one of my Rics, working out a bluesy little tune I couldn't get out of my head. And as for recording, there may be a project in store for later this year, but it wouldn't be a solo one at this point, but rather something our worship team is working out.... I'm sure I will post details about that experience as it becomes a reality, as that will be a brand new venture for myself, and the rest of the team!

Kendall, you're not already thinking about stripping the one you just bought, are you? Might as well get that chipper ready now!

Nope I'm gonna leave it be, but it does make 6 black Rics now. I've gotta get some variety!
