I don't play it much. I'm a bass player. But I like to look.

They remind me too much of John Kay. They are cool guitars, but I've never seen or played one. I'm more of a Rose Morris person myself... Ooh...a 381 with f-hole! How cool would that be?

It is cool, but I think the choice of an F-hole sort of puts the brakes on the models otherwise sleek and speedy styling look; a slash soundhole just fits and complements the guitar's shape better.

Note also the very subtle and soft German carve on that 384. It almost gets lost in the dark edge of the burst.

Oh wow, I really want a 381.

I have not played one, so I think it would be heavy for me, but nothing a wide padded strap couldn't help with. Anyway, I have one planned as my next guitar.....in about 2020 the way I am going!!

I have one, and it is absolutely marvelous. The weight doesn't bother me at all, its gorgeous, very playable and I'm keeping it.

Yeah, there's lotsa love over here for one. Got a line on a special one, which may become available for purchase down the road a ways. Demo'd a couple in the last four months and I find it much to my liking. I live vicariously through those who own a 381V69. Peace, out.....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

Are you serious, Paul?!? Are you serious, man? Whew, that 'Zuma Brown is simply stunning ---- sublime! Thanks for sharing the pic. I took one of my fave straps and attached it to a 381V69 at a local store the other day. Connected it to a VOX tube amp, remained standing for 25-30 minutes fooling around with it, and it didn't seem overly heavy. Uh-oh.....

Peace, out.......Goofyfoot.

Someday I'll get my 381v69/12...

Going to put gold/tort plastic on when I get it...maybe I'll do a dark two-tone brown refinish:
