So true. My wife didn't warm up to my buying a Rickenbacker at first. She finally did once she saw it in person. Same goes with the fretless 4003. Recalcitrant until she saw it for herself (and heard it). Ironically though she really didn't want me to sell my Stingray, even though I never played it when we were together, even just dating... Inexplicable. Finally I ABed them for her and she gave me her blessing to unload it.

After the guitar was paid off he brought in an envelope addressed to himself and an official looking letter that read:

"Congratulations, you are the winner of our grand prize.. A brand new Les Paul!... please come in and pick it up at your convenience etc" and then mailed it home

The next day his wife received the letter and was so excited that she called him at work, picked him up, and drove him to the store, she was all smiles when they entered and they happily took the LP home!
This is still the best idea of them all! :D

My wife gave me my first Ric for my 50th birthday. After several failed ebay attempts on my part, I guess she tired of my whining and went to the local dealer. It seems that day they had recieved a Jetglo and had just put it on display. I came home and found a large, beautiful black case on the sofa....her only complaint was how heavy it was to get from the car to the house! Turns out she paid less than what I was bidding on ebay.

The DCM is a whole different story

You just have to be carefully selective of who you marry. If you aren't 100% positive about someone you are thinking of marrying, it's better to stay single.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

It is a bit boring over here. I want to unload a fretless Warwick (plays very well, but I miss my neck pickup) for cash. But someone had a trade offer for a fretted 5 string Wick. My girlfriend says: "Oh, you don't have a fiver yet". End of story.
In general she earns her own toy money for photography stuff, and I earn my toy money which most of the time goes to basses. Our '63 vintage Kitchen could do with an overhaul (which should be paid from both our budgets) but luckily for me she is more into buying L lenses than into buying kitchen gear. :)
