New pickguard for 4003

Post by jps »

I picked up my bass today from Pickguardian. I dropped it off with Tony Friday afternoon on my way to the Dublin gig and picked it up on my way back from Fairfield.

Wait till you see the other one. It will be at MARF.

These are just quickie pics, I will try do to this justice sometime this week, if I can get out of the darkroom!!! :? :?:

Oh yeah, nice finger rest, too. :D

Okay pics, really, just to show the new guard. I still have to install the toaster to complete the picture.
This was made with my 17-40/4L lens.

I like it Jeff! Did you do the routing or did Tony?

Very nice Jeffrey. The toaster will finish the "look"

It looks great Jeff,I have done the same on my '92 4003 after seeing what you did with your Mapleglo Fl bass.I will have to get a Toaster pickup for mine now to finish it off.

When will RIC go back to this classic pickguard shape? They have restored the 60's body and headstock shape, deep cresting wave, full width inlays, walnut headstock wings, even the bass-cut capacitor is back. Bring back the classic pickguard!

I have a toaster in my parts box just chomping at the bit to be used.
I did the routing, I still have to touch it up with, most likely, black acrylic nail polish.
Let me see if I have a pic with the standard PG, but any late model 4003 photo will show the original PG shape.

Tony can do this shape without the extended section, if desired.
