looks like a preschool paint pallate after all the colours have been mixed up, in fact i bet its actually that type of paint on it!!

If it is "kindy-garter" type paint (tempera)... that's good... it'll just wipe off with a damp sponge!!!
My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

I'm with you Jeff. I'd just free up the control knobs and go with it. Sling some white paint smears on my amp for a similar look, and call it done.

I know ... it needs a cream colored p-bass pickup, a bad *** bridge, and a tortoise pickguard ...
