The red one has the 80s vibe. If it were a proper finish, I wouldn't mind it at all. It would match my Charvel. As for the other one, you do have to wonder what gets in people's heads sometimes.

It would be nice to find a whole load of beat up old Rickys and refinish or retop them. If the original finish is shot, and they aren't really anything special, then why not?

Looks like something Eddy Van Halen would play, if he played bass. Didn't Michael Anthony have a real funky looking Ric in their early days? I remember seeing him onstage somewhere with one. (photo)

Hang that red bass from a Steinberger swivel mount, attach swivel mount to a strap-on harness, and hire on to the band as a bass ball player.
