Sorry guys, I wanted $3,000.00 + for it and posted it with a lower starting bid on the bay (at $2500.00) thinking that it would easily reach the 3K mark...at least. My reasoning was to start bidding a bit lower to generate more interest. Fortunately for me, the winning bidder didn't have the $$$ ready and asked me if I can wait a few weeks! Needless to say, I told him that I couldn't wait and we mutually agreed not to follow through with the auction. Whew, that was close!!!

Hi all!
I won't be re-listing on Ebay. I was thinking of just holding on to it. But, I do need
$$$ to cover another purchase...$2750.00 will take it home boys.

Go for it, Brian.
Re: March 73, $2500
There's no doubt the current economic squeeze has cut into vintage gear. Regardless, this bass is still a good buy under $3,000. The one other factor that can affect price, is that JG and MG aren't usually as sought after as FG or a custom color from this period.

I can personally vouch for Tony Matura being a first class, up front and honest seller and a pleasure to do business with.
Tony and I interacted as eBayers before Tony joined the Forum. In fact, one day he bought a '74 4001 MG bass from me and I bought a different '74 4001 MG bass from Tony. Neither of us immediately recognised that we were dealing with each other!
Good luck with the sale, Tony. I look forward to finally meeting you at MARF in a few short days!

My stretched max is $2500 and, unfortunately, I've taken some toy money hits lately so "only" a few hundred more means I'm out. Besides, this would mostly be a sentimental purchase since my 1st Ric was an early '73.jps wrote:Go for it, Brian.

Very cool, Tony!
Re: March 73, $2500
Yeah, beautiful Mapleglo! Guitars like that are why MG's are still my favorites...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
