Cool! It's even got those little diagrams that show you where to put your fingers!

That's why they made those enigmatic tugbars, for the real old-schoolers like Paul.

You mean there's another way to play?

I must confess I'm on the same page, Evan
Paul sometimes uses an oversize plectrum for the fiddlier bits.

Re: Play Along With Paul!
I started playing with my thumb in 1965 and stopped because -- if you're really old, you'll remember this song -- I couldn't play the little bass break in Wayne Fontana & the Mindbenders' "The Game of Love."
I switched to my fingers, then went to a pick when Chris Squire arrived. But I never could play funk very well with a pick (still can't), so I alternated. I still use a pick on my Hofner, but fingers on every other bass (except a Rick, if I still played one). However, I have been using my thumb a bit now if the song doesn't call for heavy attack or blazing speed. I'm not a slapper, though.
Re: Play Along With Paul!
What kind of bass rig is that behind him?
Re: Play Along With Paul!
Ashdown ABM500 and matching 4-10 (most likely) cab.

He's using Mesa Boogie live, I think.
Re: Play Along With Paul!
He has used M/B for a long time so I was surprised to see the Ashdown in that video.revolver323 wrote:He's using Mesa Boogie live, I think.
