New Ric in my band!

Post by fireglo67 »

I posted this on the UK thread, but I'll repeat it here as well.............

One of the guitarists in my band had finally had enough of watching the rest of us play Rics whilst he played his vintage Gibson Les Paul, so he asked me to find a nice new Ric for him.

This is what I found, a 2008 Amber Fireglo 360/6, and it is the best guitar I have ever seen and played, the set up from the factory is so good I nearly cried when I played it. The Amber Fireglo finish is the stunning 2008 type, with a very dark outer that is just fabulous. The amber full width inlays and binding just set the whole thing off beautifully.

I'm seriously considering selling a one of my guitars to get a 2008 model, they're that good.

Here's some pics of me in his living room, lucky boy!

BEAUTIFUL!!! I too have a 360 Fireglo who's red is more of a darker ruby-red than the lighter orangy color (yuk) that RIC produced for a while. My Fireglo 360 is a 1985 model.
the 360 on the right is a "Tuxedo" model stripped and refinished to natural Mapleglo. The neck and fretboard are maple, and the sound is noticeably different from the rosewood 360.

Funny you should mention this. For the last few years I've gone to vintage Ricks and only have one that was produced later than 1968. My buddy recently got a 2008 360FG, and what a guitar! Easily one of the nicest Ricks I've ever played. The 330 JG I got last year was also a great player. Not that they've ever produced second rate guitars, but some of the new ones I've played are phenomenal.
