Hi everybody this is J Dog, I'm posting at J Willi's house. Hanging out with Mark and his lovelywife was a lot of fun but way too short... thanks again Mark for the hospitality. John and I are going to go check out some Ricks or something, so I'll see you all soon!!! Cheers, J Dog (current trip avg mpg 44.6)

JDog:
Just noticed you'll be coming through Frederick, MD - my hometown! I won't be around, but let me know if there's any info you need.

Hey gang. I just arrived in Raleigh and will meet Mr. Parks in a few hours for dinner. Thanks to Jwilli for being a first class host in South Carolina - by far the most beautiful state I've driven through so far. Breakfast at Lizard's Thicket was excellent - I highly recommend. Cheers - J Dog

Wow, you actually get to meet Mike Parks! I've talked to him once a week for 5 years and never met him.
Re: J Dog's East Coast US tour 11/08
Mike is a great guy.....he's certainly had some awesome stuff over time.......
Re: J Dog's East Coast US tour 11/08
Yaaaawwwwnnn... boy am I sleepy. It sure is cold this morning too!
You know, I've known Mike for eleven years and never even knew what he looked like!
But I met with him and the missus last night for some great Carolina sports bar grub and beeeers at the Carolina Ale House. I have to say, we hung out for about two hours and had the best time. I don't think we stopped laughing the whole time! Talk about hitting it off. I got to meet Jake too, although he wasn't very good at conversation!!!
And Mike was nice enough to bring along my favorite ricpage "not for sale" guitar, the 56 Combo 400 Cloverfield Green. That was a real treat, my first glimpse in person at CG. It was much closer to modern TUR than I expected. We had fun comparing the 56 to my 58, same model. No wonder I couldn't find the serial number on mine, it's on the sax strap ring, the only part missing from mine (I have a ric-outlet replacement on mine now).
So, once I wake up here it's off to Virginia. Sorry, no pics. I have my cameras but no way to upload them, as I'm on public computers so far. Once I get to Koelling's today maybe I can hook it up and post some. See you later on down the road! Cheers, J Dog

Just arrived at Koellings' house and we're off to Richmond for some music stores, and a bluegrass concert. We'll post some pics, as I'm here until Thursday. Peace - J

Re: J Dog's East Coast US tour 11/08
J-Dog, I enjoyed having you visit me here in Columbia. Thanks for the kind words. Autumn has been really beautiful this year. We got more rain this Summer than I can ever remember and it must've helped. I was amazed at the collection of RICs that J-Dog had assembled in his hotel room. Very nice. I even checked out Graham's super secret guitar before he did! Ha ha. Seriously Graham, I wish that owned it. Another piece of the 1958 puzzle, for sure.
