Re: New to me...a 425V63
Very cool John - nice to see a 425 out getting played! Is it versatile enough with only one pickup?
What happened to the JG 425/450 models? Haven't seen one for sale for years...locked away in Beatle guitar collections maybe?
It's interesting how years go by without a mention of a particular model, then out of nowhere it's all over the place.

I wouldn't call it all that versatile, but it's great at what it does. I find that it sounds very Strat-like. You'll see this weekend.dpowell wrote:Very cool John - nice to see a 425 out getting played! Is it versatile enough with only one pickup?

I thought it would have the Esquire/Tele twang to it, really...
I hear that George Harrison could have possibly used his 425 for recording "I Want to Hold Your Hand". Does a 425 nail the sound of that song, or does it sound more like his Gretsch Country Gent?

I think it is the Gretsch. I don't think George was that fond of the 425.JakeK wrote:I thought it would have the Esquire/Tele twang to it, really...

Sorry if this is a bit off topic (at least to the guitar) ,
but you guys in all of your infinite wisdom helped rid a 40 year old
(not ric) bass of someone's painted on (in old english font w/ liquid paper
or model paint) signature.
Zymol rules the school. I bought the scratch x too ....
but it didn't even get to that.
I didn't know how to approach this before selling it.
U guys really saved the day, and probably some cash.
Looks as though it was never there , and aside from
play wear nicks that was about the only thing glaringly wrong.
THANK YOU ric forum folk!!
