early feb. you said you had wiring diag. that did it all~best of the old and the new, or something to that effect. Please email it to me or display it here if you can. thanx Doc!

I'll explain it here,

You should get your self 2 new !/4" Switchcraft input jacks,they run about $3.00 each...just standard mono are fine.
You will also need a .0047mfd cap and a couple of pieces of #22 multi stranded hhokup wire.

I unsolder the leads from the existing jacks (you might draw out the location of where the original leads went ,in case you want to re install them) and put all that into a ziplock plastic bag for safe keeping.

On the jack that will become the Rick-O-sound jack,I attatch one end of the .0047 cap to the hot lug and a ground/earth wire to the other lug.These need to be at least 3 inches in length.The capacitor will need to have a piece of wire spliced onto it.
Attatch the other ends to the correspnding lugs on the other jack .This will get the shielded cable from the original jacks assembly .Run the shielded cable to the volume control for the bridge pickup and install a jumper cable between that lug on the bridge pickup pot and the lug on the neck pickup lug ,that the original jack lead was soldered to.

What this will give you is this ;

Rick-O-Sound jack will be mono and have the classic tone -crisp

the Standard jack will give you the sound without the cap and will be darker-modern

You have the best of both worlds .

Granted you have to unplug to change the vintage to modern tone but I think this works rather well and makes for an interesting set up.
Plus you can return to stock if you want to .AND!!!!you won't have jack failure ,which happens from time to time on the switching mono jacks.

This does kill the stereo circuit ,and if you need to have stereo ....well then ,Sherman set the way back machine for 1958,when Mr.Peabody will be exploring the new and amazing Stereo-phonic sounds of Sputnik flying by.

Yeah I think I'll be able to handle it When I can get back to it. Right now I'm gettin ready to base coat the infamous Squireglo back to it's original yellow and I'm fighting What I've named the mean Mexican project. I installed 4001 pickups switch & pots in a Fen.Mex. P. plus a new set of EMG select P/U's WHY is it when I tie All three pu's together I get such an awful harmonix it almost hurts your teeth?

The EMG select is out of phase with the Rick pickups.

If you turn off the EMG ,does the brittle ,glass shattering clink go away?

Never mind I ported it out seperate from the rick's I Guess I'll just have to live with it like that, You might remember this if you ever need an obnoxious sound. Could I put an extra cap in line somehow? I thought I could achieve a loud warm rattle with this experiment. Oh Well! Back to the drawingboard. Help me mister wizard!!

your answer is to flip the hot wires on the Rick pickups.Just unsolder the hot and ground/earth that and that the ground/earth and make that hot.You must do both of the pickups.That way they will still be in phase with them selves as well as when you add the EMG.
