My 350v63 has arrived!

Post by squirebass »

Va va va Voom! Man, I have waited too long for this baby! When I opened the case for the first time of course the first thing that struck me was her astounding beauty(due partly to her Montezuma Brown finish) but when I got my hands around her neck and played her for a little while I realized this was more than just a pretty guitar. She is so light and so small but just a dream to play. I am mainly a bass player, and I've mainly played Strats so far(big difference!), but now I have my own Ricky 6 stringer! I love this guitar already and I just got it yesterday morning. One thing I wasn't prepared for was how much output this guitar has, I had to crank way back on my amps volume control to quiet her down as it got late last night. Maybe the 350 guitars play just like 330s or 360s, and that's why people don't talk about them more, but this guitar plays so nicely I'm surprised they don't get more notice here on this board. I will post pictures when I can get my digital camera set up right. This baby's a beaut in so many ways! Thanks Mr. Hall!
Hey, I have one question tho.... What does the fifth knob do? I have one on my 12 string too, and I can't get a grip on what it does, Thanks!

Congrats, Gene! I love the body shape of the 325's and 350's.... they are just the coolest-looking guitars! Bet it looks absolutely stunning in Montezuma Brown.... Can't wait to see the pics! Image

The fifth knob is a second volume control for the neck pickup wired backwards and not grounded. It will reduce the volume of the neck pickup turning it clockwise but without cutting it off totally.

I rewired it on my 660/12 so that it works the normal way, ie, counterclockwise to reduce the volume; I may yet wire it up as a master volume control as I feel it is redundant, I can just turn down the volume control for that pickup and get the same effect.
