Re: MARF Pics
John W. - Great pix, nice to see Graham sober and not hurling insults and vomit at anyone in the vicinity.

Great pics!!
Since I have been out of the loop for a while, this was a great time to re-establish old contacts and make some new ones!
It was nice to finally meet up with Graham and Trotty, Kris, Tammy, Jdog, Kenny, John Biscuti and others....after years of just internet contact, it is so nice to meet face to face....and seeing and talking to Jwilli and John Simmons again....I am awed by what they have done and their collections.
And as always, it was a pleasure to see Jeff Scott, Dave Pascoe and Mike Gutierrez again....you guys are like "ricken-brothers" to me.....
...and thanks to Chris and Shelby for being such gracious hosts!! I bought 3 t-shirts from them this time.
Can't wait for the next one! I hope to bring some interesting "pieces" with me next time

Yeah T, you looked really happy, glad you could sort of make it.ajish4 wrote:MY FIRST CONFLUENCE!!!!!!!! Well, almost!
It was SO VERY COOL seeing everyone and all those amazing RICS!
I even met Diane, Chris, Darren, Kris, Tammy, Steve, Jdog, Kenny, Graham, Jeff Scott, and so many others.....what an amazing hour that was. After 3 years of conversing with all of you, it was a blast to see and hear (well, sometimes hear anyway) you guys
Janey said my face was lit up like a Christmas tree when I was on that call. She really wished we could have made that trip.
Sorry that you didn't hook up Kira.
Kira, sorry I didn't see your post, I would have gladly done the same for you.
Good job on the pics, John W!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: MARF Pics
I fiinally made it back to Montreal. This was the best Ric experience ever. Chris and Shelby are THE class act. I'll get some photos up in a while after i get the camera unpacked.
Meeitng everyone was fantastic, very familiar and yet new at the same time. Ther was a ton of talent to go along with the plethora of Rics as well. It was very rewarding to jam with Steve G., Dave W. and Ken P. Thanks guys, you are all incredibly talented and it was a privelage to sit in with you.
The party was beyond anything I imagined. It was my first tiem seeing any of the attendees, and Kenny Howes was on his game that night. Fantastic job, and a great right hand technique. Chris' band were simply awesome. Great set with perfect harmonys, and several Richeads contributing. The job everyone did on Black Water was fabulous. The capper was Kenny, Darren and Jeff with Won't Get Fooled Again. The experiment was a stunning success guys.
A completely unforgettable experience. More perspective to come, but first I have to get my family some groceries after being missing for 3 days.

Here is Greg, who does look a bit like he could be related to John Entwistle in this photo.

Excellent! We don't know when mine was born but the pots have been dated from 1981. They could have shared the same litterbox!ben_brown wrote:That would be my '77 Walnut 4001 Kira! I guess we have twins!kiramdear wrote:The bass next to the laptop in the last group looks just like my walnut 4001.
Joey, thanks anyway. I feel like I was there from all the pics. Next time we'll hook up live

Re: MARF Pics
Great shot, Jeff. Does Greg play his lefties strung righty?
I really missed seeing everyone this time. I'm looking at going to SERF though, and by the end of February, I'll be really ready for Ricks and Florida -- and WARMTH! Don't know if Dorothy will come down, but I should be there.

Man!!! You guys look as if you had a kick-butt time (and you all probably did). I wish I coulda come, but school was being a son-of-a-biscuit. But next year, baby, I'm coming, and I'll probably have a couple Rics I can haul with me
Someone give me some info on SERF, and I'll see if it's during Mardi Gras so I can come
BTW, John B -- Did you ever sell the CS? Or did you come to your senses and decide to keep it?

Re: MARF Pics
No, he plays with lefty stringing. It always blows my mind how John Simmons can pick up any righty bass and play it so well.bassduke49 wrote:Great shot, Jeff. Does Greg play his lefties strung righty?
BTW, you would have loved Mike Gutierrez' Carl Thompson bass he had at MARF. Incredible instrument that must be filled with helium.
Re: MARF Pics
Here is another shot of those who chose to be in the photo, there were a lot more people here, though.
